INDOT will close portions of I-65 in Indianapolis beginning July 1, 2018 for bridge preservation projects. The estimated date to reopen the interstate is August 5, 2018. Contractors will be rehabbing seven bridges along the stretch of I-65.
Southbound Interstate 65 between the I-65/I-465 interchange on the northwest side of Indianapolis will be closed. During the closure, I-65 southbound traffic on the northwest side will be detoured via I-465 South or I-865 East.
The project will also close both directions of I-65 between Meridian St. (exit 113) and 21st St. (exit 115) in downtown Indianapolis. The entrance and exit ramps at the Dr. Martin Luther King St.//West St. interchange (exit 114) will also be closed. The entrance ramp from 21st St. to northbound I-65 will remain open.

Go South on Pennsylvania Avenue, Meridian Street or Capitol Avenue to South Street. Turn left and proceed East until you reach the 3-Way intersection of East Street, South Street and Virginia Avenue. Angle right onto Virginia Avenue and go 4 stop lights straight ahead.
From parking garage (Maryland, Delaware & Virginia) head Southeast under the Parking Garage, 6 stop lights straight ahead on Virginia
Take I-70 West to Michigan, Ohio, Fletcher Exit [83A]. Turn right onto Fletcher Avenue. Go to the second traffic light and make a hard left turn onto Virginia Avenue. Go 4 stop lights straight ahead
Take I-65 South to Michigan, Ohio, Fletcher Exit . Turn right onto Fletcher Avenue. Go to the second traffic light and make a hard left turn onto Virginia Avenue. Go 4 stop lights straight ahead.
Take I-65 North to Morris / Prospect Street Exit [110A]. turn right onto Morris Street. Turn left at Shelby Street
Take I-70 East to West Street Exit [79A]. Turn right on West Street. At first light, turn left onto Morris Street. Go East 4 stop lights and turn left on Shelby Street.
